How Does Gift Aid Work?
Once you have made your donation and completed a Gift Aid declaration we are able to claim back the tax on your donation from the Inland Revenue meaning that if you donate £10, No More Landmines receives £12.80.This scheme applies to both one-off donations and to regular giving.
Who is Eligible for Gift Aid?
If you are a UK taxpayer paying income tax or capital gains tax at any rate you will be eligible to join the scheme. You must ensure that you have paid tax to at least the value we are reclaiming within the tax year.
Information for Higher Rate Taxpayers
No More Landmines can only reclaim tax on your gift at the basic rate. If you are a higher rate taxpayer, you can claim the difference between the higher rate of tax of 40% and the basic rate of tax of 22% in your Self Assessment return.Since April 2004 you have been able to gift repayments to a charity of your choice. This means that your original gift could be worth even more to the charity.
How to Join the Scheme
To join the scheme all you have to do is complete a Gift Aid declaration when you make a donation to us. This can apply to a one off gift or all gifts that you plan to make now and in the future.
