Lebanon

Following civil conflict since 1975 and war with Israel in 2006 Lebanon was left littered with UXO – in particular cluster bombs. In the last 72 hours of the conflict between Hezbollah and Israeli Defence Forces cluster munitions were dispersed over Southern Lebanon. The failure rate of these munitions ranges from 10 to 40% leaving a terrifying legacy for the civilians who call the area home. It is estimated that there are up to 1 million unexploded cluster munitions still littering Southern Lebanon.
